Tolling/Third Party Refining
Under certain market conditions refineries are willing to lease excess refinery capacity to third parties. Natural Energy staff has negotiated such arrangements and is equipped to work with the interested parties to pave the way towards a mutual agreement taking into account credit terms, yields, title issues, insurance, etc.
Contract Negotiation
Natural Energy’s staff has more than thirty years experience in the industry and have negotiated many spot and long term contracts. A well written contract with terms and conditions which protect the principal is indispensable. It is important to insure that pricing, laytime, port restrictions, optionality, payment terms, interest rate, etc. form part of the negotiation prior to closing the deal. All these terms are important and contribute in a large part to the success or failure of any transaction. Natural Energy understands what is necessary in structuring a successful contract.
Product out of specification
At times the process of refining, storing and/or transporting large or small quantities of hydrocarbons can present a problem when these do not meet with industry standards. High water levels is a common contaminant. Natural Energy´s staff has worked with Weathered Crude Oil and off spec Orimulsion. Weathered Crude is the crude which was set ablaze by Iraq and then contaminated with salt water and chemicals by fire fighters. Orimulsion was produced by PDVSA, Venezuela, as a replacement for coal and BTU generation. Crude oil was emulsified with fresh water as a power generation alternative, however this process did not always produced the desired result but generated large quantities of oil containing over forty percent of water. The staff at Natural Energy has had the unique experience of treating, blending and marketing these products. Being able to effectively correct and market such products can be extremely lucrative. Having this expertise keeps us constantly on the look out for such opportunities, opportunities we pass on to our clients.
